Garden Party – great time had by all

The annual Bishton and Underwood in Bloom awards were held by Bishton Community Council in Underwood Community centre on 12th September. This year the event was extended to include activities for children and refreshments and lots of residents enjoyed the food and drink on offer. A raffle was held in aid of the councils fund-raising for more de-fibrillator locations in the area The highlight of the day was the presentation of the awards for best gardens , hanging baskets and allotments in Bishton and Underwood. The judges were impressed by the excellent efforts by local gardeners , especially given the hot, arid weather of the summer. Chair of the council , Councillor John Davies presented the awards and reflected how the great gardens in both areas had helped the council secure another Green Flag award in 2026.Congratulations to all the prize winners.Picutred are Mr and Mrs Turner who won the best garden and best hanging baskets -Underwood awards, receving their prize from Bishton Council chairman – John Davies
