Welcome to our new Clerk

Bishton Community council is delighted to welcome Chris Ashman as the new clerk and responsible finance officer for the council. Chris brings over 30 years experience of working in the public and private sector including working with parish and community councils in England and Wales. John Davies, Chair of the Community council welcomed Chris to his first council meeting on 9th April 2025, “We are delighted that Chris has joined BCC and we all look forward to working with him in the coming years”. John also added, “I also want to thank Jacob Richards-Powell, our outgoing clerk, for all his support and effort in the last few years. Everyone at Bishton CC wishes him well in his new ventures”.

Chris said “I am delighted to have been appointed as Clerk to Bishton Community council and look forward to meeting and supporting the councillors in helping local residents and businesses. The Bishton community council area has alot going for it , being a great place to live with good access to local amenities. The community council will want to play its part in continuing to improve the quality of life of everyone in the area and I hope anyone who shares that aim wont hesitate to get in touch with us”.
